Mr. Elwood Brant

Piano Instructor

My Story

Elwood Brant is a native of Shanksville, Pennsylvania and attended Duquesne University for

Music Education. Ever since the age of twelve, he has played piano for churches, given public

concerts, and been involved in everything having to do with music. From writing arrangements,

to accompanying choirs and musicals, to running sound and video for productions, Elwood has

a broad range of experiences.

As a renaissance man, Elwood has many interests including woodworking, camping, kayaking,

cooking, writing, and movie making. Several years ago he wrote, produced and directed a

feature-length film called “Doppelganger” which was inspired by Schubert’s lieder of the same

name. He believes that music and music education brings creativity and joy to life. In turn, a life

lived with creativity and joy then brings more depth and richness to music. He lives a life of

broad interests because of the inspiration that music brings. Elwood is excited to teach at the

Music Note and to inspire that same spark of joy that only music can ignite.
