My Story
Genevieve Shaftel is a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania–based singer, actress, and voice instructor with a passion for musical theatre, vocal performance, and arts education. A soprano with a three-octave vocal range, she has performed in a wide variety of theatrical productions, bringing both emotional depth and comedic energy to roles such as Fantine in Les Misérables, Inga in Young Frankenstein, Erzulie in Once on This Island, and Edwina in Dear Edwina.

In addition to her work on stage, Genevieve is a dedicated voice teacher who works with students of varying ages and experience levels to develop healthy vocal technique, confidence, and artistic expression. Her teaching approach combines strong technical foundations with encouragement and creativity, helping singers grow both musically and personally.

Genevieve’s training includes extensive study in acting, vocal performance, dance, and musical theatre, along with experience across multiple musical styles including musical theatre, opera, jazz, pop, and bluegrass. She is also proficient in several instruments and speaks conversational French. Known for her warmth, professionalism, and versatility, Genevieve continues to inspire audiences and students alike through performance and education.
