Miss Alice Statham

Music and harps have always been at the center of her life. As a lifelong professional musician with more than 20 years of harp study and performance experience, she is deeply committed to sharing the knowledge, artistry, and traditions that have shaped her musical journey. She studied with Gretchen Van Hoesen, whose mentorship helped inspire her passion for both performance and music education.

Believing that music thrives through the guidance of dedicated teachers, she considers it both a privilege and a responsibility to continue that tradition by mentoring and inspiring others. Her teaching approach emphasizes not only technical excellence, but also a lifelong appreciation for musical expression and artistry.

In addition to teaching, she continues to perform regularly, bringing the unique beauty and expressive power of the harp to a wide range of audiences. As an extensively trained harpist, she is passionate about sharing an instrument that is less commonly experienced today, creating meaningful and memorable musical experiences through every performance.
