THE MUSIC NOTE
My Story
Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, Aeva Richard is steadily establishing herself in the Pittsburgh area as a private lesson instructor and freelance musician. She is a dedicated flutist whose work reflects both technical excellence and a deep commitment to music education.

Ms. Richard holds a degree in Flute Performance from Youngstown State University, where she studied under the guidance of Dr. Kathryn Thomas Umble and Professor Stephanie Carter Dennis. During her time at Youngstown State, she was selected to perform with a wide array of ensembles, including the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Flute Ensemble, Jazz Band, and numerous chamber groups. In addition to ensemble performance, she has been featured as a soloist, further demonstrating her versatility and artistic range.
As an educator, Ms. Richard has extensive experience working with young musicians across Ohio and Pennsylvania. She has served on the instructional staff for numerous band camps, where she led flute sectionals and coached marching technique on the field, helping students develop both musical precision and performance confidence.
Ms. Richard was raised in a richly musical environment, shaped by her father’s classical guitar playing, her uncle’s piano performances at family gatherings, and a home always filled with the sounds of classical symphonic music. Drawing from these formative experiences, she is passionate about fostering a lifelong love of music in her students and hopes to inspire those at The Music Note in the same meaningful way that music has inspired her throughout her life.
