My Story
Emily is a versatile and highly accomplished vocalist whose artistry spans both classical and contemporary styles. Known for her refined technique, stylistic versatility, and compelling commercial appeal, she performs throughout the Pittsburgh region and beyond in genres including inspirational pop, classical, jazz, and musical theatre. Emily currently performs and tours with the nationally recognized Studio E Band and previously served as a principal performer with the house band at Howl at the Moon in downtown Pittsburgh. Her stage credits include Hair with PMT, Susanna in scenes from Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Mrs. Peachum in Britten’s The Beggar’s Opera, and Factory Girl/understudy Fantine in PMT’s production of Les Misérables. She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where she earned a B.F.A. in Vocal Performance, an Advanced Music Studies Certificate in Vocal Performance, and K–12 Music Education Certification. During her studies, Emily trained extensivelyin the Bel Canto tradition while focusing on opera and musical theatre performance.
In addition to her performing career, Emily is an accomplished educator and vocal pedagogue with over a decade of experience teaching private voice students of all ages and skill levels. Dedicated to cultivating healthy, expressive singing across a variety of musical styles, she furthered her pedagogical studies under the guidance of voice professor Jennifer Aylmer. Emily has taught music and theatre programs nationwide, most recently serving as Adjunct Professor of Music Theory at the SAE Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. Her teaching and directing work has taken her to programs in Denver, Pittsburgh, and Unity, Maine, and she has extensive experience leading music and choral programs in both public and private school settings. As an instructor, Emily is known for combining enthusiasm, compassion, and technical expertise to inspire artistry, confidence, and authentic personal expression in every student she teaches.
