My Story
Ms. Alexis Graves is a passionate and accomplished vocalist with degrees in Vocal Performance and German from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Throughout her academic journey, Ms Graves’ principal instructors have included Mr. Joseph Helinski, Dr. Ted Wylie, and Ms. Hilerie Klein Rensi, who have significantly shaped her artistic development and vocal technique.
Ms. Graves has discovered a profound joy in mentoring young musicians. In addition to her home studio in Washington, Pennsylvania, Ms. Graves holds a position as voice instructor at The Music Note in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her teaching philosophy blends technical training with artistic expression, creating an inspiring atmosphere where students thrive.
Ms. Graves has performed with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, The Berlin Opera Academy, appeared in nationally televised PBS productions, and as a solo recitalist. Some of her most notable roles are as “Gertrud” in Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel and “Arsamene” in Handel’s Serse. Ms. Graves is also a member of the Pittsburgh Opera Chorus, conductor of the Belworth and Concordia Children’s Choirs, and serves as a professional singer for the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
In her free time, Ms. Graves enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and playing with her Shih tzu named Beau.
